Such a good shop it's insane, they are quick, nice and do it right. Got ppf on my headlights here and their turn around time was so quick. I will be going here for everything!
Paint protection film for the roads you actually drive
Clear urethane film on the panels that take the hits — bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors, headlights — installed by people who also fix what happens without it.

What is paint protection film?
Paint protection film (PPF, "clear bra") is a clear, thick urethane film applied over painted panels to absorb rock chips, road rash, bug etching and light scratches before they reach the paint. Modern films have a self-healing top coat that closes light swirls with heat from the sun or warm water. It's usually installed on the front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors and headlights, or the whole car, and is designed to be removed later without harming factory paint.
- Impact protection. Chips, road rash, scuffs — the one thing a ceramic coating can't give you.
- Headlights and fog lights, not just paint.
- Old film off, new film on. Yellowed or lifting film comes off before anything goes on.
- Fresh paint can be filmed once it has cured.
- Installed in a body shop. If a chip already went through, we paint the panel, then film it.
What PPF protects against, and what it doesn't
Film takes the hit so your paint doesn't. Worth being clear about which hits.
What film stops
- Rock chips and gravel off the 10, the 215 and the Cajon Pass
- Road rash on the bumper and the leading edges of hood and fenders
- Bug and bird etching before it reaches the clear
- Parking-lot scuffs from doors and carts
- Light swirls, which the top coat self-heals with sun or warm water
What film doesn't stop
- Dents. A cart still dents the panel; it just doesn't scratch it.
- Gouges through the film. The film took the hit instead of your paint; that section gets replaced.
- Fading on panels you didn't film.
- Neglect. Film locks in whatever is under it, which is why it goes on corrected paint.
Full front or full car — what do most people get?
Where you drive and where you park decide it.
Headlights and fog lights
Guards the lenses against the pitting and yellowing that dims output. On its own or added to any of the below.
Partial front
Bumper, mirrors, and the leading edge of the hood and fenders. The strike zone, with a film line partway up the hood.
Full front
Full hood, full fenders, bumper, mirrors and headlights, no line on the hood. The common starting point for I-15 and I-10 commuters.
Full body and track
Adds rockers, A-pillars and the roof edge, or covers every panel. For a car you plan to keep or a color you can't easily repaint.
How a PPF install goes at R2R
Five steps, with photos along the way.
Coverage plan
Where you drive, what you park next to, how long you'll keep the car. That decides partial front or the whole thing.
Prep and correction
Wash, decontaminate, correct where the paint needs it. Film seals in whatever is under it.
Cut and fit
Patterns for your year, make and model. Edges wrapped where the pattern allows, so no edge catches a wash mitt.
Install
Slip solution to position, tack solution to hold, squeegee out the water, heat to conform it around the curves.
Cure and care sheet
Keep it dry for the first days; small moisture pockets and light haze clear as it cures. You get photo updates along the way and a care sheet at pickup.
PPF or ceramic — or both?
They protect against different things. PPF is mechanical protection: rock chips, road rash, scuffs, parking-lot scratches. Ceramic is chemical protection: UV, water spots, bird droppings, bug etching, and it makes washing easier. Highway commuters get film on the front; most owners who care about the paint do both — film first on impact areas, ceramic over everything including the film.
Order matters: correction, film, then coating. Film adhesive won't bond to a slick coated surface.
Read about ceramic coating at R2R, or text us photos and we'll tell you which one your car needs.
Film installed inside a body shop
A film shop without a paint booth can only cover a chip. We fix it first.
- Headlight film, done here
One Google reviewer: "Got ppf on my headlights here and their turn around time was so quick."
- Chips already through the paint get painted first
Film over a chip locks it in. If it's through the clear, we refinish the panel in our booth and film it once it has cured.
- Old, yellowed film removed cleanly
Heat, peel, solvent for the adhesive. You see the paint underneath before it gets covered again.
- Cajon Pass gravel is our daily diet
The 15, the 10 and the 215 feed this shop. If the damage has already happened, see sand and rock-chip damage repair.

PPF questions, answered
What does paint protection film protect against?
Rock chips, road rash, bug and bird etching, parking-lot scuffs and light swirls, which the film's top coat self-heals with sun or warm water. It won't stop a dent, and a gouge that cuts through the film means the film took the hit instead of your paint — that section gets replaced.
Full front or full car — what do most people get?
Most road damage lands on the front bumper, hood, fenders, mirrors and headlights, so full front is the usual starting point. Full body makes sense on a new car you plan to keep or a color you can't easily repaint.
Can PPF go on headlights?
Yes. Headlight and fog-light film guards against the pitting and yellowing that dims output over time, and it's one of the quickest jobs here.
PPF or ceramic coating — which do I need?
PPF for impacts, ceramic for UV, water spots and easy washing. Many owners do both: film on the impact panels first, ceramic over everything including the film.
Can you put PPF over Peel Clear or fresh paint?
Fresh paint has to finish curing before film goes on — we'll tell you when your job is ready. Peel Clear is a peelable paint finish, so we'd rather talk about clear Peel Clear or ceramic on top than film over it. Send photos and we'll advise.
