The story
Two generations of paint, one building off Orange Show Lane
Armen Hovannesian was born in 1973, an Armenian immigrant from Lebanon, and he carries on a trade his father started. His father painted cars. Armen grew up around the gun, the mixing bank and the booth, and it's still where you'll find him most days.
He has painted for Disney and Universal Studios, and for a long line of custom-car customers who wanted a color nobody else on the street had. That's the "refinish" in Round 2 Refinish: paint is the center of the shop, and every other service is built around it.
Vasken, his son, runs the shop day to day. He writes the estimates, handles the insurance claim with your adjuster, and runs the restyling side under a second handle, @round2restyling: wraps, window tint and Peel Clear color changes. He's the one who answers the phone and the one texting you photos of your car in the booth.
Between them the shop has 20+ years in collision and customization. The banner out front says collision and refinish. The Instagram feed is color changes and blacked-out trim. Both are true, and that's the whole idea.
Look at the logo and you'll see three stripes under the R2R — red, blue and orange. That's the Armenian flag. It's on the banner, on the wall and on every estimate that leaves here. The trade came from somewhere, and it kept going.

What the shop is today
Collision and restyling under one roof, in two halves of the same building.
One side of the building is the paint and collision bays: teardown, body work, the downdraft booth. Insurance jobs, customer-pay repaints and dealer reconditioning all go through there, and Armen is the painter on every one of them. Start with collision repair if that's why you're here.
The other side is the restyling bay, the one with the hexagon lights on Instagram. Wraps, chrome delete, tint, film and Peel Clear color changes happen there. Because it's the same building, a Peel Clear job gets its door jambs sprayed in a real booth instead of taped off in a driveway.
Insurance, walk-in and account work come through the same door. And we refinish everything: a Porsche one week, a batch of industrial light fixtures the next, motorcycles, boats, the odd appliance. If it holds paint, custom paint covers it.

- Platinum Finishing Systems downdraft booth
Our Platinum Finishing Systems downdraft paint booth is built to NFPA 33, the national fire-safety standard for spray-painting operations. Air comes down through the car and out through the floor, so overspray and dust don't settle back into wet paint.
- ETL-listed equipment
Our equipment is ETL-listed by Intertek, an OSHA-recognized testing laboratory. It's the listing an inspector looks for, and it's the reason the booth can run all day with a car inside it.
- I-CAR-trained technicians
I-CAR is the collision industry's not-for-profit training organization, and our technicians train through it. That's the certification we hold. We don't claim manufacturer or dealer certifications we don't.
- HVLP spray equipment, paint and Peel Clear alike
Paint and Peel Clear go on with the same HVLP guns, in the same booth, by the same painter. Peel Clear is paint, so we treat it like paint: masked, sprayed, cured, jambs included.

How we treat your car
Six things you can hold us to, whoever's paying for the job.
- Photo and video updates while it's here. You'll see your car in the booth before you think to ask for it.
- Straight answers. Polish or paint, wrap or Peel Clear, claim or customer-pay. If the cheaper fix is the right one, that's the one you'll hear about.
- We handle the adjuster. The estimate goes to your insurer, and if teardown turns up more, we get your OK and theirs before extra work is done.
- You choose the shop. Your insurer can suggest one. It can't require one, and California law backs you on that.
- A deposit only to order materials. On a restyling job it locks in your color or film. It isn't a fee for a spot on the calendar.
- A daylight walk-around at pickup. Panel by panel, with you, before the keys change hands.

The painter
Armen Hovannesian
Second-generation painter. Born in 1973, an Armenian immigrant from Lebanon, Armen learned the trade from his father, who painted cars before him. He has painted for Disney and Universal Studios, and for custom-car customers who came in with a color in their head and left with it on the car.
He's the one in the booth when your car goes in: the color match, the spray-out cards, the blend into the next panel, the jambs. Pinstriping and airbrush are his too, which is why custom paint at this shop means a painter, not a vinyl printer.
Runs the shop
Vasken Hovannesian
Vasken runs the shop day to day. He writes the preliminary estimate from your photos, sends it to your adjuster on an insurance job, writes the supplement if teardown finds more, and schedules the car once parts or materials are in.
He also runs the restyling side under @round2restyling: Peel Clear, wraps, chrome delete, tint and paint protection film. When you call or text (760) 881-5162, he's the one who answers, and he's the one sending you photos from the booth.
